Commedia is the business name of Mark Jeffery. Mark has over 15 years experience of working for development organisations in over 20 countries. Clients have included UNDP, UNOPS, DFID and the World Bank . Mark also frequently works in partnership with consultancy companies with a need for a development communications specialist on their team. The result is experience of working in a variety of contexts including health, education, rural development, demobilisation and governance.

No two projects are the same, so Commedia uses a variety of strategies for attaining the particular development communications objective. These range from devising and implementing mass media campaigns, organising advocacy, or running consultative exercises, to using participatory approaches to help 'bottom-up' communications from project beneficiaries. Increasingly market research techniques are used to determine which approach is most suitable for the particular situation.

Over the years Mark has moved from being solely media production to formulating comprehensive communication strategies. As team leader on a recent projects, Mark has been responsible for putting together specialist teams to help conduct research and then putting the resulting communications plan into action. For this reason Commedia is always interested in hearing from other experts in the field with complimentary skills. If you want to add your name to the rosta of specialists, please feel free to e-mail a recent CV to:
